Having begun meditating by the fifth grade, Richard has practiced yoga intermittently over the course of his life. It was after having taken initiation into Kriyayoga that he began incorporating the principles of Advanced Yoga Practices (AYP) into his daily sadhana. AYP is an open and non-sectarian, synergistically integrated system that incorporates highly effective techniques from a variety of different approaches to yoga. These classes include physical postures to prepare the spine, a variety of breathing practices to prepare one's subtle neurobiological system and meditation to cultivate abiding peace. Practicing this system consistently over the course of the past 10 years Richard has attended multiple AYP retreats and, in 2017, he completed an international teacher training program in AYP. He completed a second 200-hour yoga teacher training program at Yoga East in 2018 where, as a life-long student, he is continuing his studies in yoga.
